And, as author Emily Paster reveals, your air fryer can cook all kinds of dishes beyond fried foods. With recipes for every mood and occasion, this is the perfect introduction to the amazing versatility of the humble air fryer. An ingredients list sits above short and simple directions, and it’s incredibly easy to follow – although, execution wasn’t the easiest, so we would say it’s best for those confident in the kitchen or who know their way around an air fryer. And indulge in air-fried desserts and sweet treats such as the ultimate Cheese Scones, meltingly beautiful Chocolate Fondants, teatime favourite Banana Bread, comforting Apple, Pear and Raspberry Crumble and simple Speedy Carrot Cake Muffins. Thanks to Harvard Common Press, Quarto Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review. For vegans, vegetarians or anyone looking to increase the plant-based portion of their diet, this cookbook is sure to be a welcome helping hand. I have been considering purchasing an air fryer, but I was not sure if the investment was worth it and what I could make with it.

In Epic Air Fryer Plant-Powered Cookbook, air-frying expert Michelle Anderson shows you how to make 100+ amazing vegetarian dinners, sides, snacks, desserts, and more. But we will first stress that it does have a health and/or weight-loss angle, with calorie counting at the top of each recipe and phrases such as ‘slim down’ and ‘keep an eye on calories’ in the descriptions, which people are sure to either love or loathe. Whether you are new to air frying, or it’s something you do on a regular basis, the Epic Air Fryer Cookbook has plenty of recipes to pick from.

I wish there were pictures for all of the foods, but it is easy enough to look up most of them online. So, while the dishes may not all be the most exciting, it’s sure to be a great helping hand when whipping up breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks. So far, we’ve been introduced to a whole host of vegan-friendly recipes – the brussels sprouts with coconut cream, and the vegan doughnuts are just two of our favourites so far. These handy appliances use less energy, less oil and take less time than conventional ovens, helping you prepare fuss-free versions of all your favourite dishes. So, whether you’re looking to find some new favourite recipes or need some inspiration for a particular diet, there’s sure to be something to suit everyone.

I learned so much about how to use the air fryer with this book, not least of which is how to use it to cook more than just french fries.
